南北朝時代、「霊山」の山頂付近には、霊山寺や霊山城があり、この地を治めていました。その名残りが各地に点在する神社や寺、史跡などから伺うことができます。江戸時代寛文年間が始まりといわれる霊山太鼓など、先人達の次代への伝承する姿勢や、祭りに対する熱狂さなど、その気質は現在に引き継がれています。
About 700 years ago, the land was ruled by a castle and temple situated atop Mt Ryozen. These historic sites are open to the public for exploration.
An example of our cultural heritage is Ryozen daiko, a kind of Japanese drum which has been played every summer festival since the Edo period. Through Ryozen daiko drumming, we’ll show you the passion we’ve inherited from our ancestors.
